I’d love to believe what you’re saying is true but you seem a bit out of touch with reality.  People judge other people on appearances worldwide, even in completely different cultures. The idea that DC is exempt from this is kind of absurd.[/quote]

The whole city doesn’t have to be “exempt” for reasonable people to not do it. If I know my friends are into fashion and have chosen something to express themselves, of course I’ll appreciate it and participate in celebrating that with them. But if they don’t, I don’t care. It’s just another personal interest. [/quote]
