Omg the shooter’s father was relived his son wasn’t gay when he found out about the shooting. WTF?! Father of the year! /s The shooter comes from a completely trash family. I suspect he was gay and couldn’t handle it. The fact that you have posted his family is Mormon, say no more. My sister is Mormon. I grew up around Mormon kids out West. They are absolutely anti-gay! I don’t care if the head of the church says they aren’t. The members are the absolutely the meanest people I have been around. Mormons and Westboro Baptist Church who protested a place I was at.. both are very similar.
You can suspect all you want, but mental health issues as a result of a broken home, especially one with a drug-addicted porn involved father, are well-documented. He was clearly a troubled young man, based on his previous encounter with law enforcement. His mother was all over Facebook asking for good mental health counselors for her son. Sounds more to me like he deliberately picked on a group that would give him the most media attention. Had he opened fire at a Trump rally or country music concert, it would not be the ‘cause du jour’. People on DCUM have a habit of making up motives, especially when the perpetrator gives a motive they don’t like.
But he didn’t shoot his father or people like his father. He shot people at a drag show in part because influential people have been saying it is fine target that group. That is what delusional people do. They look for justification to target their hatred. They are scared shitless of people in power so they target innocent soft targets like school children, church ladies, or LGBTQ club patrons.
You dont know what his motives are. You dont know that he listened to right wing media. For all we know, he disliked someone at the club.
We know he has a history of homophobic hate speech. We know his homophobic, meth addicted, porn star dad was relieved to find out his son wasn’t gay when he found out he had shot up a gay bar (he hasn’t been around his dad for years but I don’t think we know about his childhood relationship with his father). We know he belonged to a conservative church although he’s inactive now. We know his grandpa is an extremely conservative politician. But yeah, it’s a huge stretch to think he’s influenced by right wing propaganda. He’s probably just having a friendly disagreement with a trans bartender, a drag queen, or a mom who likes comedy shows, and it got out of hand so he shot up the whole bar. It’s probably not that he’s a gun nutter influenced by conservative homophobic messaging.
Meanwhile if there was any indication that he was democratic in any way, the conservatives saying "you don't know his motives" or "you can't blame politics for evil" or "stop jumping to conclusions" ... Would be the FIRST to imply that the toxic political agenda of the left, his LGBTQ+-ness, were all related to his motive. FFS, it's so ridiculous. See FoxNews comment section, they were implying that this is all democrats fault up until the interview with the father and now they say "evil is evil" "you can't blame politics" or they still think he's closet LGBTQ+ You cannot talk about the toxic agenda of the right, it doesn't exist, right? right? right? Only on the left till absolutely proven wrong then it's not about the politics? So ridiculous.
