In this situation, the right move is to ask the person she's sitting next to to move seats, so that person would be improving their seat, or at least making a lateral move.  Asking to move a window seat for a middle seat is ridiculous.  It shows she wasn't really concerned about sitting with her kid, she just wanted to improve her seat.  [/quote]
