Biden administration wanted less domestic energy production and distribution. We got it.
Which has zero impact on the gallon of gas for a car cost. That is pegged to the global market.
You are being a little convenient with your dissection of the issue. Global fuel prices are pegged to demand. When we make more, and are more self reliant, we have more ability to manipulate fuel prices or internally supplement. Biden cut production via canceling the pipeline and future leases. He then asked OPEC to lower the price of fuel. They said no so he tapped our emergency reserve. And this was all before Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia already supplies Europe with tons of oil and approximately 20% of our oil comes from Russia too. Biden made colossal blunders cutting off our current and future production and lifting sanctions on Russia 8 months ago. We are going to bear that fruit in higher fuel prices. And Teslas don’t help. Our food and other essentials are primarily shipped by Truck. Yes even your food from Whole Foods comes by Truck. So all prices will sky rocket. Biden is just criminally stupid.
lol what? What does Tesla have to do with this? Or is that just what you say when you mean electric vehicles? I think electric cars are the future but it's pretty irrelevant in this conversation about short term fuel prices. Also, I'm not a fan of Musk. He's a Republican/Libertarian. I hope he moves to Mars.
. The Tesla comment was directed at the commenter who keeps trying to say this is all a good thing because it will push the US toward electric cars. I’m fairly sure you knew that. Electric vehicles aren’t there yet. So people can be pushed and prodded all day long but in the end, we still need trucks that actually drive long haul distances. We aren’t there yet.
Have you ever heard of trains? Far far more efficient and reliable than trucks. Which party tries to limit rail infrastructure in this country? Hm?
