Clothes. She exclusively wears designer clothes and shoes. She dresses up like she is THE prize. So much of seduction and beauty is in how to present yourself. She is wearing sky high expensive shoes, tight little designer dresses and walking around with a coy flirtatious smile.

Confidence. A lot has been written about Carrie's main character syndrome. But you know, she prances around in her expensive shoes acting like a prize who deserves the best men. This is not a shrinking wall flower. She has the confidence and sensual allure even a much more physically beautiful character like Charlotte does not. [b]In face, we see that Charlotte has a harder time dating than Carrie, despite her objectively good looks. She is too prissy and too uptight and boring and frequently gets dumped. [/b]

Flawed logic. If Carrie was such an amazing bedfellow, perhaps she would have had a high-status man marry her 10 plus years prior. The more logical conclusion is she's simply a drunken trainwreck used and led on by a series of men for easy sex with no intention of 'buying the cow' so to speak (marrying her). A lengthy sex life doesn't guarantee you're good at sex, but it does almost always mean STDs, baggage, substance abuse, and mental issues.[/quote]

That may be true. I can agree that someone like Charlotte, classically beautiful, "well bred" and wealthy, would easily find an eligible man to settle down with. BUT, the fact remains that in the story, Charlotte, despite her objective physical beauty, wealth and status, was single into her thirties and kept getting dumped by a parade of eligible men. She must have some serious personality flaws to end up like this. In the context of the show, it is displayed over and over again that she is too uptight, prissy and judgmental. There is NOTHING about her that is "fun". What do you think Charlotte talks about on a date? Men seem to sleep with her for her beauty and dump her as soon as her boring uptightness is revealed.

Carrie did not want to get married for the sake of getting married. She had no desire for children or to move to the suburbs and have 2 babies. She lived a rich and fulfilling life writing, partying and bedding handsome men. 
In fact she even turned down Aiden twice and he was willing to offer her all of that.
