I don't know any military families who expect to be in the same place for more than a few years but then again, I don't know any musicians. OP, I know at least the Catholic high schools in VA have merit scholarships along with financial aid, and the tuition is much more reasonable so 25% or 50% off might put it in your reach vs. one of the independent high schools where 25% of a big number is still a big number.
