Do I get that there aren’t as many of the same name these days?  Yes.  That said, as evidenced by this board, naming trends tend to run in peer groups/SES groups. My girls have normal names.  I wasn’t trying to find some crazy unique moniker.  Just a name that wasn’t in heavy usage right now.  As I said above, it was a fun exercise to find names that worked within my criteria.

This lady posts all the time on these name threads. She had a very popular name growing up and was one of many w that same name on a cheerleading squad or something. So she picked names that are known but not currently popular for her daughters. If you hang around here long enough you’ll recognize her posts.

One of her daughters has the same name (but different spelling) as a recent presidential candidate. The other has a name that’s the feminine version of a male name meaning “ruler.” I would post the actual names but then she’ll just have my post removed.[/quote]
