What A meets are 90 degrees? Those things start and end early. It’s the B meets that are hot. I also will mask and/or distance and ask my kids to do the same because of one high risk child under 12. We have desperately been waiting for summer swimming after a successful spring session with FINS with masks, distancing, and crowd control. I’m sad it won’t be the same for the summer and will opt my kids out as needed depending on how safe it appears given what others around us are doing. DH said his main concern was during meets when kids get called to clerk of course. There are generally big huddles of kids. Different protocols for the under 12’s would be appreciated! For the people saying that a mask protects the person wearing it, please cite your data. Even the CDC states that it “may” protect the person wearing the mask. That’s been my main complaint with all of these mask mandates changing. The science seems to change when it’s economically convenient or when gov’t thinks it can reduce vax hesitation.
This is not about vax hesitation it’s about community spread. The seven day average for cases in MoCo is 2.1/100,000 people. If you say 100,000 people the chance any individual has COVID is 0.002 percent Then if you are unlucky enough to be exposed to one of these ppl at your pool (which is highly unlikely) you’d have have COVID 19 transmitted outside, which itself almost impossible. By comparison, the chance that a vasectomy fails is 0.15 percent. That is why there is no mask requirement.
