Cross country is more common too.[/quote] Yeah I am from New England and my school ran a used ski sale each year as a fundraiser. We would buy used equipment there and resell it the next year. We also skied locally and stayed in motels. It was pretty cheap. Also lift tickets have increased in price quite a bit and the Epic/ikon passes are great for people who ski a lot - but they make it harder for people who just want to try the sport. Plus it is so much easier to learn as a kid - so basically if your parents weren't in a position to help you learn (eitehr because of money or because where you grew up), it is much harder to get good enough to really enjoy it.[/quote]
