You NoVA folks have lost your minds. FCV and McLean still attract significant talent. Arlington is keeping its talent for the most part. BRYC is done. Metro United is done. VDA will produce a good team here and there but don't have the geographical pull to be anything other than a competitive club. The wildcards are Loudoun and GA. If FCV can't get into ECNL and GA dies, FCV has lost is pull. Loudoun will benefit. Arlington will return to feeding McLean. BRYC might recover it it manages with FCV.
As other PP stated, 05-03 is under an old order. The 06 teams and below is new era. VDA producing high quality teams in this age group (06/08s) as well as Loudoun. The only constant for all age groups seems to be Richmond United as they don't have to fight amongst themselves. The whole Arlington and FCV not being in ENCL is real and they'll rot on the vine.
The poster is a .......There is no old order and new order. Apply a higher level of thinking when it comes to deal with posters. NOVA cam absolutely field 4 NOVA teams. That’s not issue. It’s the 4 ECNL and 3 GA that allows for “watering down” The GA will die off. If they plucked FCV and Tophat for the east coast GA is dead in this area. FCV will not get ECNL. They will have to move. ECNL gave their spot Loudoun. They will not create a situation where they have to fight for the same pool. Whether you like it or not, Loudoun is the biggest pool in VA. If FCV shut down operations at Evergreen, which they may because they are owned by a group in Springfield, Loudoun will become a force. If FCV moved to BRYC, they would be 10 minutes from TSJ....who they are owned by. They then create a partnership and get back in ECNL will creating new customers for TSJ. How long do you think TSJ, who is dealing with the financial hardships from COVID, will allow their team to pay fees at evergreen versus pocketing the money? Arlington will reestablish a partnership with McLean.
So you’re telling me that the one thing keeping Loudoun from being a force is a girls soccer club that can barely manage two teams per age group?
1. Loudoun girls first issue is the arrogance that came with the huge player pool. 2. The way they treated parents and players 3. Losing every good player after U13 to FCV 4. Not having an elite platform 5. More arrogance and nepotism. 6. Too much parent involvement Loudoun, without a shadow of a doubt, COULD become the greatest force in NOVA. First, they wil have to create an environment that allows for it. If FCV moves to Springfield and Metros, who is not even a player but has some good players, falls out of favor with players because of the weakness of the GA, BRYC will strengthen. Same thing with Arlington that will strengthen McLean. Here’s what you will have. PWC - VDA Loudoun - Loudoun Western- Central Fairfax - BRYC Northern Fairfax and Arlington- McLean As soon a GA clubs except their demise, thing will get back to normal. It’s coming. Just a question how fast.
