Are the new checks still going to be based on 2019 taxes? Bad idea! Still filed jointly last year due to divorce agreement and filed in Feb - no idea about the stimulus then, or the pandemic for that matter. Unemployed divorced mom of an online learner as of now, but no check?! What a joke.
Instead of wasting five minutes of your life posting this, you could have actually read about the CARES Act instead. Let me summarize some of the most relevant information you seem to be missing. 1. The stimulus checks were an advanced refund on 2020 taxes, estimated from 2019 taxes. 2. If your 2020 income is too high to receive the stimulus check but you qualified based on your 2019 income, you don't have to pay it back. 3. If your 2019 income was too high to qualify for a stimulus check, but your 2020 was low enough to qualify for a stimulus check, you will receive it when you file 2020 taxes in 2021.
