Given the choice, Sidwell or the Georgetown Day School (GDS): WWYD?
What grade? We had this choice (plus another) for 9th and we listened to our child regarding their preference. Child had no strong preference going in and even still no strong feeling when it came time to choose. Landed at Sidwell and was very happy with that choice. I know people say they are more similar than different but I do think for some kids, the culture at these schools can feel very different and will "matter". I think for other kids (the ones who are great socially anywhere) it won't matter. Since both schools offer great opportunities to learn (albeit sometimes using different methods) - I'd follow your child's lead if they feel strongly about one over the other. They are both strong programs. Of course, if you have a younger child, following their lead is harder to do. And if they are really young, you have no idea what kind of kid/learner they will be later. Good luck
