Immigration is federal law, and federal law alone.[/quote] Yes, it's a safety issue for law enforcement to have to go get them when they get out of jail but it also allows them to pick up everyone else who is in the house/apartment/workplace who is illegal too so not too bad. I disagree there is zero need to ask about immigration status. If Maryland is issuing MD drivers licenses to foreign nationals, the least they can do is know for certain the status of the person they are giving benefits to. [/quote]
