And the US is preparing a another $15B bailout for farmers. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/white-house-explores-new-farmer-bailout-plan-as-us-china-trade-war-heats-up/2019/05/14/a7ee018e-7641-11e9-bd25-c989555e7766_story.html?utm_term=.b024ef9b14e8 And the Senate Rs, not Ds, are the ones pissed about this trade war. On the bright side, China will loan us the money to pay the farmers.
I thought Republicans were against welfare payments for workers and believed in self-reliance. I guess their hatred of the vulnerable only applies to people in urban areas.
The farmers need to suck it up. No bailout. Not a single cent. They voted for this. They can be in the same boat with the rest of us— unhappy with Trump and told to suck it up until 2020. We are being told the solution isn’t impeachment. And that it isn’t Congressional checks on Trump or the Courts. It’s the 2020 election. And Trump has been anointed king until then. So the farmers can also wait until then for thing to get better. Just like the rest of us. There are a lot of people in this country being seriously harmed by Trump policies. If they are in blue states, Rs laugh about getting even and liberal heads exploding. Farmers are no more special than California wildfire victims or PR hurricane survivors or women who need safe abortions or... Farmers told us this would work long term and was work short term pain. So live with the short term pain. JFC— another $15B bailout? Nope.
