Use the free WiFi at a Dunkin' Donuts in Fairfax. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Woman-Kicked-Out-of-Virginia-Dunkin-Donuts-500653011.html
Duncan Donuts isn't the public library. If you want to hang out there, buy something.[/quote This location is near the homeless day shelter. I’ve seen homeless men out around/in this store. The owner was obviously associating the drug addicted panhandling crowd (usually Caucasian in this area) when she approached this woman. Which somehow makes the story that much worse. I have lived here for 20 plus years and this woman, even if dressed “down” for the day doesn’t fit the typical Lamb center patron. Just racist garbage. I for one will not set foot in that store ever again. If she hadn’t mentioned the safety of the other customers I might have given her a pass... but somehow just being of color makes you dangerous. The last time I was there a homeless looking white lady sat at one of the four seater comfy couch areas with a pile of papers... mumbling incoherently... and no one said a word to her. She had nothing in front of her, not an empty coffee cup, not even a donut crumb. She was settled in for the long haul. Her white shirt we made her less threatening i suppose. Maybe open opioid addiction makes one less threatening.
