This thread has a lot of crazy responses on it. Who needs 8 guns? Well a hunter does. You aren't going to shoot a duck with the same gun as a deer. We do live in the DC area and hunt. We've had lean years where we can't afford meat and eat deer and wild game out of our freezer only. In more rural areas most people live like this. We are big nature lovers and a think deer hunting is more humane than how cows are butchered or raised. Deer populations are out of control due to humans, so we could either allow more hunting or we pay hunters to euthanize these deer We have maybe 10 guns. Some are inherited but plenty are used. We have one handgun and the rest are rifles and shotguns. Dh serves overseas in war zones and uses the handgun to train before missions. He carries a m16 overseas but we don't own any assault rifles. I personally don't like assault rifles or semi automatics. I shoot skeet for fun. All are locked, unloaded and in a gun case. The handgun is in our safe with a lock through the barrel. I'm interested in gun control. Our worry is that "armor piercing" weapons will be outlawed. Any deer rifle could go through Kevlar.
