This is compounded by the fact that the riders in the back of the pack was riding at a much slower pace.

A lot of things goes both ways.  Where while drivers should do their best to accommodate bicyclists, at the same time people riding bicycles should realize they're not going with the flow of traffic.  Where their max speed is what 25 mph to 35 mph?  So they need to accommodate and share the road too.[/quote]
