Any thoughts on Hyde-Addison inbound for PK4? Trying to decide if we should roll the dice on ranking other schools above it in the hope of getting in somewhere else in NWDC that won't be swinging.
You would rather commute to another school than be in a swing space? Aren't they providing busing?
PP here--yes, because I don't want my small child on a school bus across town during rush hour, it's hard to know how this will impact Hyde as a community/neighborhood school, and I've heard that the swing space isn't good. If DD was already a student there, maybe I'd feel differently. . . .They have been planning these renovations since at least 2011, and that itself has impacted the school--I know in-bounds families who haven't tried the lottery for Hyde or sent their kids there because of the allegedly impending renovations for years now.
I get and understand the part about the cross-town bus for a 3 year old, good point. Regarding the space, I think preschoolers are a lot more resilient that we give them credit for. They don't realize the space deficiencies like we do.
