Wait, are you telling me #110 M&D DC picked up good players from #10 BLC?  No good player from a top 10 has ever left for a team 100 spots lower in the rankings, so this would be extremely noteworthy.  [/quote]

Nobody from BLC orange went to M&D DC- Black.  BLC orange 2030 imploded after the coaches decided to put their kids on a different team and not tell anyone until after the weather delayed tryouts.  Sadly, families scrambled.  Most girls went to MDU- Bethesda, Pride, and lastly Rebels.[/quote]''

So the BLC orange coaches decided to put their kids on a non BLC team prior to tryouts, so people are upset.  This seems unavoidable with the tryout schedules around here, some are super early, some are super late. So the only way to not scramble is to plan to tryout for multiple clubs anyways[/quote]

True, but people are upset because the BLC coaches committed to coaching the team.  Neither gave any indication they were leaving. Some families tried out for other teams only to get their girls experience, no intention of leaving. Many declined offers.  Then at the eleventh hour the coaches bailed, their kid went to a different team, and then the families scrambled and most rosters were full, or near full. Some girls still don't have a team because it was so last minute and everyone took the coaches word that the team would be in place for 25/26 season. [/quote]

thanks for the context.  coaching does matter so much at this level.  i've been advised to never agree to join a team that doesn't name their coach ahead of times.  that said, i'm sure that things can always change over the summer, but that BLC orange situation sounds awful. i hope they all end up somewhere welcoming eventually.[/quote]
