Agree 100% you don’t create a Westfield island but there’s always the theoretical possibility you move Coates or McNair elsewhere (Coates to Herndon, McNair to South Lakes). However that leaves KAA super wealthy if is Floris, Oak Hill, Fox Mill, and Crossfield, with maybe a bit of Navy, so unlikely. [/quote]

South Lakes refused McNair in 2008.  The PTA didn't want them.  That boundary study was based on nothing but socioeconomic issues.
They won't send Coates to Herndon --they might consider McNair, but I doubt it.

McNair
Floris 
Oak Hill

They will neither want nor need to overtly consider demographics when the starting point will be to populate KAA with Coates, McNair, Floris, and Oak Hill.  If it were just these four it will be moderate FARMS due to Coates and McNair.  Add one more low FARMS feeder like Crossfield or Fox Mill, and the rate comes down, but it’s still got good diversity and compact boundaries and no one will confuse it with Langley.  So the demographics of KAA only become an issue because other people are throwing mud at the wall because they don’t like the potential ripple effects.  [/quote]

The demographics are an issue b/c this SB and FCPS leadership care GREATLY about appearances and looking like they put equity first. They literally say, equity is the most important thing. They will do what's logical AS LONG AS it gets them to somewhere like 30% FARMS kids. If it doesn't they will start to rejigger to try to get their desired balance. [/quote]

Well, I agree with the PP who said that it will be diverse with the obvious choices.

The Westfield complainer does not want Bull Run to move to Westfield.  I've no dog in that hunt, but it seems to be a pretty obvious choice.  S[b]he claims that since Bull Run has a Centreville address, it belongs in Centreville. [/b] That has nothing to do with it.  It is equidistant between Centreville and Westfield, and with losing schools, Westfield will need another school.  And, Centreville needs relief from overcrowding.[/quote]
