Yes, her account of that night was illuminating. She felt anxious and insecure up until that night when, for the first time, his many words of love and planning for the future persuaded her she was in fact the one. She didn't feel nervous when he went for his time with Theresa, just eager to see him again and begin their life together, as he stated. Of course she was blindsided. He also dropped her quite coldly, just as he did Faith. He couldn't wait to get away from her and out of her room, didn't seem to grasp her confusion, devastation, and reasonable need for closure. He seems to lack empathy, and be performative in his emotions rather than genuine. Leslie will realize she dodged a bullet, in many respects, but may take time. Gerry and Theresa do seem pretty compatible and could end up being happy enough, so long as she toes the line with respect to the image he has in his head of her (adoring, catering, contribution at least 50% financially...) but I would wish better for her.[/quote]
