Prep was the better team last night. To beat their league rival, Landon, 4x in one season, is extremely impressive. Landon improved as the season carried on and so did Prep. These were the top 2 teams from the IAC.

A few observations from last night.

1. The officials, while they were BAD, did not determine the outcome of the game last night. I counted 4 penalties against Landon, 1 against Prep.
2. Prep's FOGO is a beast... he won 80% of the draws... it makes it tough for any team to win if they don't have the ball
3. Out of the all the senior commits both teams, Georgetown Prep's #10 (Middie) and Landon's #4 (LSM) have a very strong chance of being high level impact players at the collegiate level. #10 from Prep is going to Notre Dame and #4 from Landon is going to Yale. 
4. Prep has more potent offensive weapons than Landon does. The Hoyas move the ball around very cleanly while Landon tends to slow the game down and simply waits for a big dodge. Prep had more scoring opportunities than the Bears, I assume they outshot Landon. 
5. Landon committed too many turnovers - while the Bears goalie played very well between the pipes, too many poor outlet passes (failed clears) which gave Prep too many 2nd chances leading to goals. Generally, better teams, capitalize on the opposing teams mistakes. 
6. I was not aware that Landon started 3 freshman last night. GP graduates a very deep and talented senior class. I fully expect both of these teams to be top of the IAC next Spring.

Assuming SJC holds onto beat DeMatha later this afternoon.... I think GP will make enough adjustments and beat SJC soundly in the finals (4+ goals).
