The MIAA did not play last night.  Did you mean IAC or WCAC?

Landon continued to make mistakes that made it impossible for them to beat a more talented Prep team. You can't blow clears and give up easy goals to a more talented team and still hope to win.

If those were the best officials available in Metro-D.C. area, I am disappointed. 
 
Though a tough call,  # 26 for Landon was penalized for taunting after he held onto the ball after being cross checked in the chest by # 28 or #9 from Prep.  # 26 appeared to point at the Prep defender and was called for unsportsmanlike behavior.  A tough call, but fine if it will be called both ways.  Then Prep's # 9 was taunting and yelling at Landon's #19  before a faceoff and the official just put his finger to his lips and hushed the Prep defender.  From the stands, I could hear other Prep players, #5, # 28, # 29, yelling the names of Landon players in a way that I am sure was taunting and not encouragement.

The officials' and Prep coaches' lack of awareness of Preps unsportsmanlike behavior, or unwillingness to control it, was disappointing at  a marquee event for DC Lacrosse.

I am surprised in an alleged hotbed of lacrosse, there aren't better officials.

Sloppy game with a lot of unforced turnovers by both teams.  Landon goalie was amazing and kept it from being a much more lopsided outcome.  Landon never really threatened, but goalie kept them in it til the end.  Prep Fogo dominated possessions.

Didn't see the specific call cited above. Certainly some missed/questionable calls in both directions, but wouldn't call it one sided or unusually bad.  There seemed to be the typical trash talk/taunting by both sides for a high school rivalry game.  Game was generally clean with no chippy cheap shots, which is where these things can descend if a poor ref crew doesn't take control.

If Prep doesn't take better care of the ball, SJC will mop them up again on Friday.[/quote]
