One of Diddy defense lawyers quit (requested to be removed from the case) saying “under no circumstance” can he continue on the case. https://nypost.com/2025/02/21/us-news/sean-diddy-combs-lawyer-quits-sex-trafficking-case-under-no-circumstances-can-i-continue/
Sometimes that happens when the lawyer knows the client is gojng to perjure himself. A lawyer cannot suborn perjury so if he knows the client is going to lie the lawyer has to ask to be removed from the case. It’s why a lot of defense lawyers don’t ask their clients for the truth. Another possible reason is that the attorney has a connection to one of the material witnesses (previously represented them, or a family member or friend or something). It would be really unusual for a defense attorney to ask to be recused just because their client is gross. Defense attorneys who do sex crimes know that this is part of the deal, and the idea is that even super gross people are entitled to a vigorous defense. It’s one reason I could never do criminal law!
