I don’t think either of the encl neighbors has great teams and VYS already sent some of its boys to other ecnls. They know how to teach younger kids how to play properly.  I would have my kid play at VYS over any of the nearby U9-12 teams for clubs who have encl teams. Those clubs are not teaching much of anything to kids at those ages, which is readily apparent to anybody who sees their teams at those ages  [/quote]

On the girls side, VYS teams under U13 are in the best league and that league also has a reasonable travel schedule. The coaching is really good, and the kids and parents are nice. Almost everyone has been together since the rec leagues. It’s not a “destination” club, but our Vienna kids have had a lot of success and the team is legitimately one of the best teams in NOVA. Most important at this age - DD is loving it. We are too. So I think the club must be doing something right.

I know that the best kids used to find their way to other “destination” clubs, but I don’t know if that’s happening anymore. U16 and under at Vienna looks really strong, and its just hard to imagine DDs team breaking up because the better kids go play at Mclean or BRYC or Great Falls or Metro. Admittedly, I don’t know the coaches or players or parents at those places. I have read some DCUM threads though, and I’m thinking the experience is definitely not better than what we have now. You don’t know what you’re taking about. The best girls in the area go to FCV. We have the best coaches and training and college placement. VYS is garbage in comparison[/quote]
