As a now retired former officer at a certain three letter intelligence agency in Maryland, I fired people who illegally took actions before the patriot act was passed. Since 2009 that agency and others have gone rogue well and beyond the patriot act. The Obama admin encouraged it against political opponents
Fake news. Even with the schlocky, selective crap that Tulsi Gabbard, Chuck Grassley, Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, Rick Crawford and others are putting out there, there is STILL no credible evidence that Obama "weaponized the government against political opponents." And let's be serious here - Trump wasn't Obama's big "political opponent" at the time anyhow. Maybe y'all are so wrapped up in the current Trump-dominated context that you've forgotten about the actual political landscape of the day. Obama's toughest political opponents throughout his election were: Mitt Romney, John McCain and Hillary Clinton. Did he "weaponize government" against any of them? NO. His biggest ideological and legislative opponents throughout his Presidency were Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and Joe Lieberman (yes Joe Lieberman, who screwed him over on healthcare). Did he "weaponize government" against any of them? NO. His remaining biggest political opponents were folks like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. Did he "weaponize government" against any of them? NO. There's no "Obama weaponized..." other than the confabulated mice running around in the heads of Donald Trump and conspiracy theorists, the only common thread in all of this is Donald Trump, who from the start has been running a campaign of grievance politics and perpetual victimhood.
