Well, you'd think/hope the people running the world would do better, whatever the girls' intentions were.
There are always slime balls to deal with, kids/teens just need to be aware of this and learn to deal with them appropriately. Also teach your kids not to delve into illegal activities for money. It’s never worth it. Additionally don’t blame others for your bad choices, because let’s be honest this is what this was, teens making bad choices, just like choosing to do drugs, to drink, to have sex and get pregnant, to steal, etc. Own your mistakes, learn from them, and don’t expect a huge payout from blaming everyone but yourself.
Who is seeking a payout? I see a bunch of creepy old men wanting to protect their jobs and reputations from (deserved) losses.
The women now coming out of the woodwork. Like it just dawned on them that this was wrong, yet they willingly went back day after day for years and made much more than most kids and adults working at Walmart or McDonalds. I am sure they see $$$$ now by claiming this ruined the trajectory of their lives. It’s very transparent what they are doing. They also were told to lie about their ages and say they were 18.
My older brother's friend, a married guy who has three daughters, drunkenly groped my chest saying goodbye after an engagement party, about 15 years ago. Only person I ever told was my husband because I felt too awkward about it and didn't want to deal with telling anyone, notably my brother, or deal with it. But if 10 other women suddenly came out about his sexual advances now, I would talk. I totally get why women do not speak up in the moment. Dealing with speaking up can be far more difficult and stressful than the event itself. -Personal experience.
