Edward (never Ed or Ted) Alexander (nickname Emma) Sofia Kid's now all in mid to late 20s. Sofia was not a "fashion" name in the late 80s.
You did your undergraduate work in English as a legacy to both your mother and two aunts. Like them you first became an editorial assistant and then a researcher at Time Magazine. As you approached 30, your gave your college boyfriend an ultimatum: marry you by 30 or you were breaking up. He called your bluff and you were single and without a boyfriend on your 30th birthday. Many of your college friends were married and you feel into a crowd at work that frequented bars in the trending East Village. There you met Arturo, a professor of psychology at the New School. You began to study (and other things) under him and soon found psychology was your field. You were assigned to research a story on middle child syndrome and you attitude toward family was colored by the story When Arturo returned to Pemsacola, you accidentally began to date a nice trust and estates lawyer who was being transferred to the firm's DC office. You saw your chance and married him soon after he asked Edward was the first born and you wanted him to be a strong leader. You refused to provide a nickname for him, and he managed to escape a nickname until he became captain of his gphigh school lacrosse team. Teammates immediately called him "Edward Scissorhands," shortened to "Sciss." You refuse to acknowledge the nickname but he is Sciss to everyone else The sonogram showed another boy would be your middle child. Again, you miser stood that shield had an I,portamt role in the family, so you chose another name that was strong and not necessarily shortened. To your surprise Alexander was a girl, but you kept the name believing it would make her escape the lost identity of the middle child. Your mother and aunts were horrified and began to refer to her as Emma. All three ar members of the Jane Austen Society, and what else could it be? You grudgingly call Alexander "Emma" because she is a totally Gorky Gorky and even broke family tradition and went to Sweet Briar. You had several sonograms to ensure that Sofia was really a girl. You're were relieved and so grateful that you named her after your Great Aunt Sofia who left the money so that you, your sisters, mother and aunts could attend her alma mater, Vassar. Sofia did not join mER sister at Sweet Briar but instead attended Vassar. She is on the web team at Time Magazine and is dating a writer for the Stephen Colbert show who calls her Jinx. She loves the nickname and so do Sciss and Emma
