Is there a large World Bank contingent at St. Albans? Or do such families usually end up at other privates, and if so, which ones (apart from, I would guess, Wash. Int.).
There are definitely a fair amount of World Bank families at St. Albans. As you suggest, probably the highest concentration is at WIS (Washington International School); also a fair amount at the other DC-based independent schools (Sidwell, GDS, Maret).
The number of World Bank families in the private schools, especially in the early years, has fallen off very very sharply. This is because they ended our educational subsidy. They grandfathered those who were already at the World Bank prior to the late 1990s, so a number of those people have their children still in privates, but that number is going to shrivel quickly. For the rest of us, it is not always that easy to afford private school without the extra that was paid by the Bank.
