I am not the PP and since the whole point of the article is to say that the Hispanic populations has quadrupled in less than 10-15 years, there is a major cause of concern, unless you honeslty think all of these Hispanics applied for citizenship and came here legally.  :roll:  Funding for ESOL and FARMS has skyrocketed and has taken a lot of money away from actual education for legal citizens.  Meanwhile testing scores have gone down.  I don't want illegals here at all.  None.  They are federal law breakers cheating a system and bringing poverty to the country that the middle class is struggling to pay for.    I want the ones coming to America legally here.  There is a big difference.  No one should get a free pass into another country.  We are the only ones that seem to allow it.   It is all a political ploy.   [/quote]

Please--you be the one to tell the student of mine who has most recently arrived from Central America that he needs to be shipped back. His entire family is still there. He is living here with a distant relative he has never met. And he's 10.

He also has a stronger academic background than many of my students who only speak English and were born in the US. He will quickly surpass those students once he acquires English, and considering how strong his skills are--that won't be long.

But he's the problem with MCPS, according to you.

He's been through hell that you can't even imagine. No child should have to witness what he has.

Why are you and your children superior to this child who has more courage. drive and ambition than most children who were lucky enough to have been born here?
