^You can keep denying it, it really doesn't matter. It says right there, in plain English, under the outcomes of the study: "Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population. Our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group." I know it's not what you wanted to hear. But that doesn't invalidate the research.
Jeez, you really can't read that right. The point is, people who feel they are in the wrong-gendered body are at higher risks for those things. And sex reassignment surgery, unfortunately, in this study of a small sample of Swedes, found that reassignment did not necessarily help them feel less suicidal, etc. That, in ADDITION to sex reassignment, they could benefit from humane treatment in the form of psychiatric and somatic care. Okay, does that help you now? In other words, if you want to help these people, it probably helps to not be a dick to them. (haha, so to speak.)
"The Transgender Law Center, HRC, GLAAD, ACLU, National Center for Transgender Equality, et al., have failed to cite a single study refuting the evidence that transgender males (“transwomen”) commit crimes against women and girls at exactly the same rate as any other males." Never forget, these are men. Men with male brains, having grown up with male privilege, and oftentimes added resentment towards women because women were born with the body they want. They act the same as men, commit crimes the same as men, and endanger women, just like men. And it's not okay.
That's not the original research article, that's the stupid article you're quoting. Failing to cite a single study is not a big deal, because the article itself claims only ONE STUDY has every been done, and that's the one I provided. Swedes, 1970s to 2000-somehting. Okay? It's a bogus argument, and if you read clearly you'd see this was the case.
Do you really not understand the link between psychiatric morbidity and violence? If not, here you go: http://bjp.rcpsych.org/content/190/2/177.2 So actually, these men are at a much HIGHER level than that of men! Thank you for pointing that out. It points out how very crazy and dangerous and insane these efforts to force women to interact with said individuals are.
The study does not seem to describe a link. The authors note: "We do not want our finding of a sixfold increase in reporting five or more violent incidents in persons with psychosis to give a misleading impression regarding the association of violence with mental illness."
