I think everyone knows that the Chemistry teacher is indeed INCREDIBLE, and I think all the other Chemistry teachers were saying was that kids this age eat lab materials that are not even candy - flour, salt, etc.  I think they were more reacting to the posters who were calling the kid who did it a criminal.  Everyone who has her knows that in addition to being an excellent teacher, she cares tremendously about her kids.  I think she should be applauded for doing something herself when she saw kids were still worried about their grades a week later.
