I did not get into HRCS and am very bitter about it. I went to 30 open houses in DC, read every post written about each school, stayed on DCUM 18 hours a day in case something interesting about the schools were discussed and got a Spanish and Mandarin tutor for my child - just in case. And I didn't get in. How is it possible? I did everything I could and still... nothing. So, now I will have to send my DC to LRCS. I am very concerned about my high-IQ kid getting so bored that he loses all interest in education and grows up wanting to backpack Europe for life instead of going to an Ivy. Poor me.
I am the person who got in up/thread. Sorry you didn't. However, given all your research, could you share everything you love about the school? I applied in a whim and know nothing about it. TIA.
NP, but I am SO SICK of people getting into HRCS and other good schools who have done no research and then coming here to gloat and ask for info. Ok, here is my feedback - HRCS is awful and not a place for kids to thrive. It is also in a dangerous neighborhood. I would never send my child there, and neither should you. Much better to send your snowflake to a private school.
