From Potomac's website "to promote activites designed to promote recognition . . " GAY-STRAIGHT ALLIANCE ...
+1 the so called progressive schools of DC should be ashamed that a Virginia school is taking the lead here
I applaud Potomac too, but recognize that such Gay-Straight Alliance groups seem to be the norm at most DC area private schools. Sidwell Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Bisexual, Transgender Alliance http://goo.gl/YJQBnL St Albans Gay-Straight Alliance http://goo.gl/Tfn0Ay NCS Gay and Lesbian Alliance http://goo.gl/nLshCv Several other schools: http://www.washingtonblade.com/2013/05/01/gay-straight-alliance-summit-draws-130-students/ For those posters who fear this "celebration" of homosexuality, you may have trouble finding somewhere to go.
Every non-Catholic school has some sort of Gay- Straight alliance, but I've yet to hear of any school other than Potomac engage in such a frank and open discussion across the entire school (teachers and students). Kudos to Potomac! Apologies to any schools that have followed Potomac's lead without me noticing and shame on any who haven't!
