Who is an example of a "right wing terrorist" that the media keeps referring to? Thank you.
McVeigh is the most obvious example but there are many others. Eric Rudolph, Holocaust museum shooter, guy who flew a plane into the IRS office in Texas, etc.
Pardon my ignorance, but is each terrorist automatically assumed to be a crazy right-winger?
Those who target the government, yes. Also those who target racial minorities. It's a key part of their beliefs that the government is illegitimate because it's run by Jews and/or socialists. That's about as right-wing as it comes. I suppose there could be left-wing terrorists, but they usually chain themselves to trees or block whaling ships, I honestly can't think of examples where they kill people.
Are right wing Jewish people considered to be, not really Jewish?
Was just wondering. Thanks for any clarification.
From the perspective of the people who believe the feds are illegitimate because of Jewish control, there is no understanding of distinctions in political ideology (and I don't pretend to understand or defend this brand of anti-semitism). There was a thread about the gold standard a while back that talks about anti-government ranting rooted in this particular set of beliefs. I think it's more fair to all sincere people of faith to categorize most acts of terrorism as political, as religion is just the justification not the underlying cause. All of those rationales are perversions and do not reflect beliefs held by the majority of followers of any faith.
