This. You do something nice and it is definitely appreciated – but also teaches people to start to expect and become dependent. It’s human nature.

OP’s neighbors have undoubtedly been coddled and cared for by their parents for years and are now struggling with the realities of being actual adults. This thread isn’t really about being neighborly, it’s about younger generations needing to learn to grow up and finally become self sufficient and independent contributors to the world. [/quote]
