No options?[/quote] There are plenty of qualified candidates who would love to be a superintendent in Iowa. If this school board was any good they would do a nationwide search and interview them. Generally, the top 3 are looked at more closely and many times are introduced in townhall type events so the public can ask questions. Then the board narrows it to 1. But this board did everything in secret. Hopefully the citizens of Des Moines will insist on a more transparent process. And the focus should be on merit and qualifications. Not on race or gender.
