MCPS isn't doing nearly enough to support students with special needs. I'm astonished the other poster here has been trying to draw a comparison between the state of gifted/talented programs and special education. I get that once a student is in middle school the advanced programs largely segregate these students from one another, but how did they make it through elementary school without seeing the horrible statement of special education supports and services? Maybe they sent their kid to private and switched to public as it got more expensive. [/quote]
