There appears to be a contingent of posters here that dislike federal and local law enforcement. I’m wondering if people’s reasoning is similar or if there are several distinct opinions. I’ve seen several “defund” posts and even one calling for the death penalty for ICE agents. Maybe it’s only one or two posters. I’ll be interested to see your replies.
The job tends to attract dumb people. It doesn’t take a lot of intelligence or training to be a cop.
About a third of sworn officers have a bachelors degree. Roughly 50 percent have an associates. Just over 5% have a graduate degree. Those numbers come close to mirroring the general U.S. population, the people they protect and serve. It takes a fair amount of training to be a cop. The career also offers a great deal of specialized continuing education for officers. Like any other job people need to seize the opportunities that they are presented. Your perception about law enforcement being dumb reflects poorly on you.
Thank you for proving my point. You need only a high school diploma or a GED to become a police officer. Police academy is 8-12 weeks of training. Spare me your scolding. You’re a bloody idiot. Most cops are beyond dumb.
Wow, it's really going to crush your ego when one of those dummies teaches you about the law. You should definitely refuse to get out of your car when given a lawful order to do so. Didn't we already dispel the training myths, or did you just drop in to say something stupid? The FCCJA is a 6 month 1100+ hour training program. College kids carrying 18 credit hour schedules are in class around 720 actual hours per year. Attempts at condecension based on incorrect information exposes both bias and ignorance. You excel at that.
