Because it isn’t just a preference for white people in general. By importing white people from S. A. who claim to have been oppressed by blacks, they are trolling the libs. It’s about showing the libs that blacks can be racist too. That’s not what’s actually happening in South Africa where the white minority controls most of the land and generally has a higher standard of living, but that’s the narrative the Trump administration is going with right now. At the same time, they are threatening to revoke the TPS of Ukrainians who are here due to the war. Apparently they’re not the type of whites that Trump likes.[/quote]

Why are they running out of South Africa if they have it so good?

Why haven't they been trying to flee for years and apply for asylum in not only the US, but also the UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Australia, NZ? If it's so bad, they should be doing all they can to get out. Many of our illiterate, impoverished ancestors did just that in the early 1900s. I'm guessing this "genocide" did not start as soon as Trump called it a genocide? [/quote]

Apparently, it’s not that easy to get citizenship in those other countries and when it comes to the Netherlands, where many of Afrikaaners are from, many of them have been in South Africa for hundreds of years and are not eligible for Dutch citizenship. This whole issue  rose to the surface because Elon Musk told Trump about it a few months ago. From the WSJ article on the topic:

Ahead of the Afrikaners’ arrival, Trump on Monday said he was expediting their entry “because they are being killed…it’s a genocide that’s taking place.” However, relatively few South African farmers say they want to emigrate. Typically, Afrikaners are wealthier than average, and while some murders of white farmers have grabbed headlines for their shocking violence, Black South Africans often die in equally horrific circumstances and in higher numbers in one of the world’s most violent countries. Even Afrikaner rights groups have said they’re more focused on fixing the situation in their country than leaving it. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said it is “completely false” that Afrikaners are persecuted.

Just a small percentage of Afrikaners have indicated they’re keen to take Trump up on his offer of refuge in the U.S., either by inquiring for more information or beginning the interview process. Many Afrikaners feel just as African as their Black countrymen, despite vastly different socioeconomic statuses. The Trump offer refers specifically to Afrikaners, and a subsequent Fact Sheet refers to “ethnic minority descendants of settler groups.” [/quote]
