I will defend PP. I stayed home with my kids because I couldn’t get a daycare spot. When my youngest started preschool, I went back to work. Well I interviewed for a year and a half. When I got a job offer it was for less money than I was making when I left the workforce 7 years earlier. It has been a constant battle to get higher paying jobs. After 11 years, I still make less than I would if I never left and I’m about 2 levels down from where I should be. Yes, there are costs to staying home with kids. I still love my kids but lying to women about the hit to career isn’t going to make things better. Your patronizing post just ignores the systemic problem and shames PP for speaking truth.
