Most people have no issue with supporting disabled people who work to their maximum potential, whatever that may be.  The objections are to advantages given to people due exclusively to long-past historical social and legal norms which no longer exist, particularly since the preferences are limited to a few specific racial and ethnic groups, even though most members of such groups cannot show any actual individual illegal discrimination against them.  Their mere membership in a class, independent of anything else, qualifies them for benefits unavailable to others.      [/quote]
