but yet my taxes will go up plus a surcharge on capital gains. They just love losing wealthy residents to VA. At some point, who will stay? There is zero incentive to stay in MD when VA is 5 min from my house.[/quote]

California’s beaches look immaculate compared to a depressing city like Ocean City, with rednecks and dirty water. Go to Laguna Beach and Encinitas and then report back. California’s beaches from Northern San Diego to Santa Monica are the best in the country. What are you smoking?[/quote]
+1  CA has nice beaches. Are they all nice? No. But, definitely nicer than MD beaches.

Also, a quarter of CA is very green, ie, the Redwood forest.  ^PP needs to look at a topography map of CA.

CA has desert, forest, mountain (great skiing in the Sierras) and beaches.  It has amazing weather.  If I had a ton of money, I would still live in CA. Alas, I'm not wealthy enough and got priced out of the housing market.  But, I'd go back in a heartbeat if I became uber wealthy.  My parents still live there, and we are going back this summer.
