If a private business fails to provide good service/quality it will fail as others will take its place. People can choose to remove their business and go elsewhere. There is no competition in the government (aside from contracts but these are managed by the govt!) so it’s not being run like a business. The only way to “choose another business” is I guess to vote congress out but now congress is being ignored anyway . It’s being run like any kakistocracy. With no checks and balances and no alternative we are screwed. It becomes a way of enriching those in power and securing their power at the cost of those without power. We had a lot of mechanisms in place to maintain checks on power but they have steadily eroded and now are being outright destroyed. The whole idea of a non political civil service was to prevent this. [/quote]
