I wouldn’t mind being RIF’d because I’d get a year of severance, which is worth more than the admin leave. The trouble is, I’m very sure I won’t be RIF’d because my agency already doesn’t have enough people to do the work I do, which is statutorily mandated.
Do folks honestly think the govt is going to abide by "old" agreements with regard to RIF/how much severance. I would not bank on getting a full year....
This right here. You have to be suscpicious of any 'guardrails' that we have relied upon/enjoyed in the past. The 'full faith and backing' our government had, is quickly dissipating due to these actions. So things like UI (state managed) could be impacted if/when the system becomes over overtaxed, because there are assumptions about the economy/role of federal government entities will no longer be a safe assumption. I don't know enough about retirement/severance in the federal government, but the ripple effects could be enormous.
Except RIF isn’t an agreement. It’s a statute. I trust federal judges over Mumps.
So are all the cyber and privacy and ethics statutes that are openly being flaunted, and violated, in plain sight. And no one is arresting these people (musk and the virgins).
