Everyone who lives also dies. There's not been a full and transparent public discussion about whether the people of the US actually owe all this money to the third world, who hates us and views us as cultural colonizers. In one lens this is humanitarian. But in another, less American lens, this is soft imperialism. There's no plan for these nations to get better or stronger. We are just paying for stasis.
