It’s a combination of blackmail, and the fact that the gulf ruling families are allies of Israel. The Al-thani ruling family of Qatar is not descended from Mohammed but Ishmael. For the vast majority of history in that region, it was an important qualifier for rulers to be descendants of Mohammed. They were also installed by the British. Whether or not they are actually Jewish, I can’t definitively say but what I will say is that they are either allies or fear Israel and as such won’t support Palestinians directly.
