Jon Benet was molested and killed by her older brother and the family covered it up. My father was one of the lead investigators.
Serious question, assuming you're actually someone in the know: Wasn't the brother 9 or 10 at the time? I could believe he killed her but I find it hard to believe he was so slick he didn't leave a ton of evidence that would be impossible to cover up. Also, why have the investigators not made this public since the brother is now an adult?
Np I always thought he did it but parents covered up the crime scene (and feigned surprise when they “found” her). Tons of foot traffic in the home from friends and neighbors after the murder and John picked up and moved her body upstairs before they collected evidence from the scene. I’m not sure what they would have found on her at that point that could have been useful I do wonder what was going on in that home, though. It sounds like all kids had not just bed wetting but bed soiling issues at pretty old ages. Already annoyed at the Netflix doc that I hear supports the random intruder theory. In what world does it make any sense. That family knows what happened
A kidnapper who takes the time to write a three page letter and put back the pen in the correct kitchen drawer wouldn’t be leaving the body behind. How would you ever collect a ransom if you leave the body behind?!
The story is so ludicrous it’s frustrating that shows, podcasts etc are still out there entertaining those obvious lies.
This. I’ll concede that perhaps neither of the parents did it. But it must have been someone known to them. And the fact that the ransom note was probably written by the mother just SCREAMS cover up. I thought the theory of Burke hitting her with the flashlight and killing her accidentally was a good one but I don’t really see a pre pubescent kid sexually assaulting her and choking her afterwords. Especially since he didn’t seem to go on to have any other sort of criminal issues as a teen or adult. And I don’t see either parent finding out about the accident and then staging the crime in such a gruesome way with the sexual assault. So to me, this one is actually a true mystery, unlike so many of the others where a child or adult disappeared from a public place where it’s pretty clear they were intoxicated and drowned/ froze/ etc, or abducted by a stranger.
