Or people who are always on their earbuds and wear their earbuds 99% of the time, so you can't even tell if they can hear you at all. It's such an annoying, primarily male habit. Any conversation whatsoever requires effort to get their attention, a long pause while they turn it off, then they go "whaaat?". It's tedious and it's a way that they avoid interacting.
You seem exceptionally dim. Try riding the metro and see how many females have earbuds in the entire time. Or anywhere else in public for that matter.
Women do earbuds on public transportation and in public because they want to avoid interacting with strangers, especially strange men, and especially anyone who calls them "females". I'm talking about men who constantly wear earbuds around their own home to avoid their family.
Maybe you’re just not very interesting. And you’re probably annoying as well. No wonder he doesn’t want to hear you.
Indeed, a lot of what I have to say is not that interesting. But I'm not willing to do all of the parenting and all of the chores myself while never speaking to my husband, so what choice do I have? He's got the children trained that getting his attention will be a tedious chore in itself, so they come to me for everything, and it's unfair to me and to them.
He is training your children to be independent and self-sufficient. This is good parenting! Get with the program, stop undermining him, and start wearing earbuds yourself.
