Fine. I have a PhD in STEM, I will go to private industry and make 4x more money.
If this was an option for you, you'd be doing that right now.
I know many people who work for the federal government b/c they believe in serving their country. I know that seems crazy to you.
There's too many of them. Too much bloat. Our tax system can"t afford them anymore. Time for some of them to go into private industry. Fed.gov should not be a jobs program.
How much of the taxes paid goes to government officials' salary? $260 billion per year. The government budget is $6 Trillion, so the salaries represent about 4 percent of the federal budget.
Guess what. We're running out of runway. The INTEREST on the national debt is $1 Trillion/year and it's only going up. That's 4X your government officials salaries. Got it? This was all predicted decades ago. Now it's happening. Everyone can sense an epic sh1* storm is on the way.
Hey guess what - TRUMP blew up the debt. That cannot be denied.
He had the help of a democratically led Congress, did he not during a national emergency (covid)? But you wanted to keep the sugar flowing by declaring climate change a global emergency and existential threat, correct?
The Democrats in Congress did not approve of his tax cuts for the rich. That’s what in large part led to the explosion of the debt. And are you saying Trump was too weak to say no to Covid relief? Why didn’t he veto the things you seem to be suggesting are the cause of the debt (wrong).
